JW Marriott Desert Springs Golf Resort – Palm Desert, CA
Choose from two exceptional golf courses designed in true Ted Robinson (the “King of Waterscapes”) fashion, meaning lots and lots of water. However, don’t let the abundance of hazards deter you. Multiple, careful positioned tee off options allow golfers to customize every round to suit all skill levels.
The Palm Course: 18 Holes – Par 72 Yardage: 6761 Architect: Ted Robinson, Sr.,Ted Robinson, Jr.
Originally built in 1987, The Palms course is home to two holes (#5 and #18) that were recognized as the best golf holes in the valley by Palm Springs Life Magazine’s selection committee. The Palm is lined with mature palms, pines and indigenous trees, and features an extremely undulating terrain with frequent elevation changes from tee to green. The green complexes are often raised, with bunkers, grass depressions and slopes protecting putting surfaces that are sloped from back to front or ridged with swales and tiers. The back side is one of the most aesthetically pleasing nines we have encountered in the Palm Springs area.
The Valley Course: 18 Holes – Par 72 Yardage: 6627 Architect: Ted Robinson, Sr.,Ted Robinson, Jr.
The Valley course has been recognized for its effective use of water, palm tree framed multi-tiered greens, and undulating fairways. Golfers will find the green complexes to be beautiful but challenging, with ridges, tiers and undulations requiring accurate iron play. There is a nice mix of wide and tightly tree lined fairways, affording most players with opportunities to use every club in their bag.
