Alpine Valley Resort – Elkhorn, WI
Holes: 18 Par: 72 Yardage: 6,107
Situated in the Kettle Moraine region of Southern Wisconsin, Alpine Valley offers a well-maintained, very playable course which takes advantage of the natural hilly terrain of the region.
Designed by course architect Arthur L. Johnson, this 27-hole facility challenges players to focus on accuracy rather than raw power. With 16 ponds, more than 50 bunkers and the meandering Sugar Creek running through several holes, a good round can go south in a hurry if not careful.
Depending upon which 18-hole course you play—between the Meadows, Summitt, and Sugar Creek nines— you’ll end up with a par-71 or par-72. The longest combination is Summitt-Meadows, totaling 6,107 yards for a 70.2/125 course/slope rating, while the shortest is Sugar Creek-Summitt at 5,873 yards.
