No. 1
It all started here. When Pinehurst No. 1 welcomed players in 1898, golf afficionados flocked from the North to enjoy a winter round. Early visitors included John D. Rockefeller and President William McKinely.
No. 2
Pinehurst No. 2, the centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses. Opened in 1907, No. 2 was designed by Donald Ross, who called it “the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed.”
No. 3
The classic Donald Ross design (circa 1910) is the shortest course at Pinehurst at just 5,862 yards. But don’t let its modest distance fool you. A combination of longer par-3s and shorter par-4s provide ample opportunities to polish your long and middle-iron play.
No. 4
Re-opened as a new course and companion to Pinehurst No. 2 in Fall 2018, Gil Hanse’s innovative design uses the natural topography and native sandscapes to create dramatic vistas and a stunning test of golf.
No. 5
No. 5 was designed in 1961 by Ellis Maples, a protégé of Donald Ross, and part of North Carolina’s first family of golf course design and construction. The combination of water carries, elevated greens and overall greater yardage favors longer hitters.
No. 6
No. 6 rests a few miles from the center of Pinehurst, and is also a departure from the first five courses in design and temperament. Between the water, bunkers, wetlands and woods, there are plenty of perils on this par-71 track.
No. 7
No. 7 is the Pinehurst contribution of another famous golf design family- in this case, the Jones’. Rees Jones built No. 7 in 1986, on the site of a forgotten nine-hole employee course laid out by Donald Ross. The layout unfolds overdramatic, hilly terrain that’s dotted with wetlands.
No. 8
The Tom Fazio designed No. 8 opened in 1996 and synthesizes all the elements of the Pinehurst golf experience into one layout. Fazio took full advantage of the 420 acres of rolling terrain and natural wetlands to fashion a course that’s visually enthralling and challenging yet fun.
No. 9
Pinehurst No. 9 is a Jack Nicklaus constructed masterpiece set amidst the long leaf pines. An intriguingly well-balanced course which, according to Golf Digest, “has come to enhance even the lofty Sandhills image for world-class golf amenities.”

The contest is only open to residents of the Unites States who are 18 years of age or older as of September 8th, 2020. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes in the game: (a) any person who is a Golf Moose employee, or of any of their respective subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or service agencies. (b) Individuals who are engaged in the development, production, or distribution of the contest; and (c) immediate family members (defined as spouse, IRS dependent, or biological, adoptive, or step-mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son) of, or who reside in the same household as, any person in any of the preceding categories. Golf Moose reserves the right to refuse to award any prize to an entrant who has violated the Rules, gained unfair advantage in participating in the promotion, or won using fraudulent means.
Participants will access the contest page from a link and follow all necessary instructions. Submissions made via any other means are void.
Winner will be selected by Golf Moose through the contest application. Winner need not be present to win. Winner will be notified by Golf Moose and will be required to agree to the Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (or prizes may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner). Participant has until October 31st, 2020 to claim their prize.
Winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and any expenses associated with the program, unless otherwise indicated. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize permitted, except in Golf Moose’s sole discretion.
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to any restrictions, conditions and/or limitations (including time limitations) that may be specified at the sole discretion of Golf Moose.
